Friday feeling is phenomenal when you've had a week worth of DOMS! Having a week off training due to an illness can really pull you back. I have noticed I'm slightly weaker than I was before I was ill. It doesn't stop me - a week worth of training has brought me back and feeling better than ever. A good ol' protein shakes has actually helped me through this week - thanks to USN - Pure Protein GF-1.

Protein itself is a good for repairing and supporting muscles after a high intense workout/activity. Another key reason to have a protein shake after a workout is that it helps build muscle mass so if you're looking to make GAINSSSS then grab a shaker and put some protein in!
USN - Pure Protein GF-1 is absolutely delicious *Especially as I'm very funny with protein mixtures/blends especially as I only use water*. Pure Protein GF-1 has several different protein sources. Anyone can have this protein as long as you're working out or any fitness activities has it's not a mass protein (which is higher in calories). Both ladies and gents can drink this, whether you're bodybuilding, weight loss or just to keep fit and healthy. It's very versatile and works all around. My boyfriend and I use this, he's a bodybuilder and I'm trying to lose weight/become leaner. The reason I love this product and this protein blend mainly is because it makes me feel fuller and it definitely doesn't bloat me. It's perfect to fit peoples needs.

It's a 2.2KG tub which serves roughly 122 scoops. It comes in 5 flavours - Caramel Popcorn, Chocolate, Chocolate Peanut, Strawberry and Vanilla. My personal favourite is Strawberry, it blends well, tastes delicious *even with water*. I use one scoop (as that's enough protein for me, it's usually 3 servings per scoop) with 300-400ml of water either pre-post workout has it helps with recovery and to build muscle mass.

Ingredients: Protein blend [Milk protein isolate, Whey protein concentrate (Milk), Whey protein isolate (Milk), Egg albumen], Flavouring, Thickeners (Guar gum and Xanthan gum), Shortening powder (Milk), Milk mineral complex, Sodium chloride, Stabiliser (Cellulose gum), Corn Starch, Magnesium oxide, Sweeteners (Sucralose, Acesulfame-K), Vitamin Blend (Ascorbic acid, D-Alpha tocopherol, Nicotinamide, Pteroyl-Lglutamate, D-Calcium pantothenate, Retinyl acetate, D-biotin, Pyridoxine hydrochloride, Riboflavin, Thiamine hydrochloride, Cholecalciferol, Methylcobalamine), Tolerase™ L (pH-stable lactase).

What's your favourite USN product?

HAPPY HUMP DAY! Especially if you're reading this on a Wednesday. Half way through the week, it's nearly there, the Friday feeling is slowly approaching and I have the worst DOMS (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness). Not felt like this in a long time. Last night (Tuesday), I did an amazing leg session, focused on every muscle in my legs and as I was still pumped I did a little back session after that - Not the greatest idea but I did it.
Today's review is by 'My Protein' and it's 'BCAA 4:1:1'. 'BCAA', your probably wondering what it stands for? Well lucky for you it's "Branch Chain Amino Acids". Most people like me call it "BCAA" it's easier and better to remember haha! 'It contains three popular essential amino acids – the building blocks of protein that make up the structure of new muscle tissue.' - This is what they mention on the 'My Protein' website.
During exercising|training, the amino acids become extremely important. With this powder formula, you can reach high levels of "Branch Chain Amino Acids" in a quick and easy way. Amino acids can also be consumed throughout the day or before/during and after workouts. I always make this before I leave for gym or a home workout and drink it during my session. Active individuals like myself are suitable to drink this especially when doing an intense training session.
You can drink this either 2-4 times a day, or like me - once in the morning and then one during a workout! I mainly mix one or maybe two scoops with water however you can mix it with your favourite juice. I have 'Tropical Storm' and oh my! It tastes delicious!. It is spot on the taste haha! Fruity and perfect.
There's two flavours at the moment on the website - 'Berry Blast' and 'Tropical Storm'. There's also a 'Unflavoured' pouch that you can purchase as you can mix this into fruit juice or other supplements. A good combination with this is L Glutamine and drink this during your exercise. You can purchase this on 'My Protein' website in three different sized pouches: 1KG pouch for £48.99, 500G pouch for £29.99 and 250G pouch for £20.99. The size that I have in the picture above is 1KG and it does last you a good while.

Have you tried BCAA before or which one would you recommend?

Monday night finally arrived yesterday - I was absolutely starving, not quite sure why I was so hungry but then I realised that my body was in repair mode because of Sunday's deadlift session and my body was craving carbs. If you beat your body up and do a strenuous activity then your body will automatically crave types of food so it can heal. When we reached home, I was craving all kinds of foods but thought let's have some salmon and a lemon and olive oil salad *Ohhh yeahhhh*. Lemon and salmon is such a great combination, to be exact it was actually salmon with Ginger and Soy. ASDA messed up my order because originally I wanted Sweet Chilli Salmon but they delivered Ginger and Soy which I was sceptical about but however it was amazing!
I fried the salmon in Coconut Oil (spray) and it was simple. I made sure the skin on the salmon was extra crispy otherwise I wouldn't have eaten it. It was possible it was slightly burned *ooops*. Added a few tomatoes - can't go wrong with tomatoes, crispy salad and salt & black pepper, there you go - FINITO! Please excuse the floppy flower in the background. Not quite done a review post yet but it will be tomorrow - keep your eyes peeled!

How was your Monday Blues? ♥

HAPPY MONDAY! What an eggcellent morning it is in Manchester. Nearly reaching December and the cold, frosty and extremely rainy weather has arrived. From doing the dead-lifts yesterday, I'm definitely having a rest day today, I thought I could train today and do a little something after picking 110KG of weight but NOPE, I need to rest and re-fuel, hence why I had a good breakfast.
It's simple and easy, it has your good proteins and fats to start the day. There is a cheeky slice of toast but it's the good kind, the all seeded sensation. The quick release of energy will start my day okay today. The good fats from the Avocado spread over my toast and for the protein a fried egg in coconut oil. Few greens that I had in the fridge for a side. To finish off a glass of water with lemon and limes.

How did you start your Monday morning? ♥

Today was another day where I can shout PB! I did it, can't believe it, 110KG deadlift. I was pumped, I was ready to do this. Bare in mind - my diet hasn't been the best, *I have been licking a spoon of Nutella several times this weekend* yes, you're allowed to slap me on the wrist. I even hit this PB when I was extremely ill all week. Nothing stops anyone if you put your mind to it and you have a good boyfriend and a good pre-workout. You do need to fuel yourself up when you want to progress in weight with dead lifts. Good sleep the night before, good breakfast (and lunch, depending when you train) and you're good to go.
I do have a goal to progress, to lift heavier, to become more leaner so hopefully this blog will show you reviews and personal progression through the weeks/months of me training. I'll also post reviews of supplements - products - fashion and beauty products along the way.

If you're wondering who the beautiful gent is in the picture above, he's not only my boyfriend and best friend but he's the best personal trainer, coach and bodybuilder. I'm not being biased but he's amazing at what he does and he looks afters his clients extremely well and makes sure everyone progresses. You could pop him a follow too on his Instagram - 'JamesUFitness'.
It was only two weeks ago that I hit a 'PB' of 80KG of two reps on a deadlift however has a warm up - I warmed myself up by doing 40KG - 15 reps, 60KG - 10 reps, 80KG - 10 reps, 100KG - 2 reps and then BOOM.. 110KG - single rep. I did try to aim for 120KG originally, however I did attempt the 120KG deadlift but I didn't quite have it in me, but to add on 30KG weight in just two weeks and one week of not training at all due to me being extremely ill, I think that's pretty impressive. I will be working my way up to make sure I continuously progress and achieve.

It was a productive Sunday and now it's off to get ready for the Christmas Markets with my team!

What are your personal bests?

We all have them days where we need a nudge, a push, a kick or just simply a boost. I do love a good pre workout so thought I would share my view on this. It's by 'My Protein' which are a very well known company worldwide that provide supplements for bodybuilding, weight loss and general health and fitness. I've used My Protein for a very very long time, before I stupidly forgot my password for my old blog website *sigh*, I did a couple of reviews as I worked alongside them as an affiliate.

Getting back to the point - if you haven't used a pre workout or you're wondering what is a pre workout or if you generally just want to know what you've been drinking then here goes..

Pre-workout is a drink (or it could be in a capsule/tablet form) that pushes your performance in the sport that you're about to do whether it be in the gym, running track or even if you fancied a jog in the park. It is a powerful kick-start when you need it most. Like I mentioned before you can drink this before training when you're tired and need a little boost or if you want to achieve the full benefits of the sport you're about to do. No matter what you're fitness goal is, whether it's to lose weight, build muscle or just to keep fit and healthy, it's a good thing to be fired up and be ready to make achievements and progress. Moving onto the product 'My Pre' - it's a quirky name, straight to the point. It's £24.99 for a 500g tub and it comes in 5 different flavours. My personal favourite is 'Blue Raspberry', it reminds me of old school sweets and Mr. Freeze ice pops.  It is quite sweet but I wouldn't expect anything less. I've used this pretty much every time I've worked out and it does give you a boost, it takes roughly 20-30 minutes to kick in so I would advise to drink this 30 minutes before your exercise.

You take 1-2 scoops and mix each scoop with 300-400ml of cold water and drink. It does advise this amount however personally I mix 2 scoops with 200-250ml so it's more of a shot. The reason I drink less water is because I don't really fancy the thought of drinking nearly a pint of water just before a workout. I prefer a quick shot and it's done, it doesn't bloat you has much and it's more concentrated - BOOM it's gone! I would advise also to start with 1 scoop if you're new to this just so that you can access your tolerance and see if you like it.
It does exactly what it says in the tub. Each any everyone will react differently, some people do experience a tingling sensation, a lot more energetic than others, some might experience light shakes just after drinking it but it does wear off. Don't worry as well, you won't experience a massive come down where you feel like you're absolutely exhausted. With myself, I literally just go back to normal and as I was before I took the pre workout. It doesn't affect your mood apart from you feel absolutely PUMPED after drinking it *giggle*

Have you tried pre workout before or would you try it now?

I'm going to cut to the chase, I'm officially restarting my blog again! *WOO*, I'm actually extremely excited to be coming back to the scene, I've had to reset my blog and start a brand new one because I'm a silly billy and forgot my password on my old blog so I can't access it, great, however here goes, I'll be mainly chit chatting about beauty and fitness has Fitness has become a new part of me. I hope you enjoy this has much as I enjoy writing.
This is my second time using "Bootea 28 Day Detox" which I purchased from Holland & Barrett's! I absolutely loved it but I forgot to review it the very first time I purchased it from their website oops, but better late than never. Bootea detox consists of two types of tea, one tea that you drink every morning which is in a pouch known as the "Daytime Detox" & a tea that you drink every other evening known as "Bedtime Cleanse" in another pouch. The "Bedtime Cleanse" has a light laxative effect just help remove any toxins and waste from the body.
Both of the teas have a mixture of natural ingredients in pyramid shaped bags that really let the ingredients infuse well in hot water, which I think is quite clever and much better than your ordinary tea bags. The ingredients are pure, natural and have no preservatives & I think that is a bonus!
The "Daytime Detox" contains a blend of Chinese Oolong tea, Maté leaves, Ginger root, Fennel seeds, Lemongrass, Dandelion leaf, Ginseng root, Gotu Kola leaves and Nettle leaves. I'm not a green tea drinker but I find this quite easy to drink so if you enjoy green tea than your more likely to enjoy this, has it as that similiar herbal taste. The "Daytime Detox" doesn't have the laxative effect so you can drink it at anytime in the day. Bootea recommend to drink it in the morning because it contains a small amount of caffeine that will give you a boost & preps you for your day! This tea definitely stimulates you & is very refreshing!
The "Bedtime Cleanse" contains a blend of Senna leaves, Peppermint leaves, Fenugreek seeds, Liquorice roots, Burdock root, Hawthorn leaves, Valerian root and Psyllium seeds. I don't mind the taste of both, I think this one tastes slighl better just because the peppermint gives it a little kick of flavour. This tea is designed to help induce a laxative effort in the body naturally to help cleanse and detox your body! Do NOT worry, I have noticed when drinking this, I'm not constantly running to the toilet, there is no accidents when I have drank it! They say it effects the body 8 hours after drinking, so you can work it out roughly what time you go bed and what time you wake up. However if you can for your first try, do it where you have the next day off work, school or have no morning plans so you know depending on your digestive system, how long it takes to effect your own body.
The longer you leave the herbal bag to infuse for, the stronger the effects are with both teas, which I do prefer. I usually leave my teabag in until I've drank it even to the point where my tea is probably cold. You are meant to let it infuse for 5 minutes that is recommended on the package but I leave it probably 10-15 minutes. The "Bedtime Cleanse" I did leave my bag in until I finished drinking and the next day, I had a few cramps *not too painful* but basically I NEEDED to go to the toilet. After a couple of "Bedtime Cleanses" leaving the tea infused for longer than the recommended time them cramps don't appear on me anymore.

"Bootea 28 Day Detox" also comes in a 14 Day package for those that want to try it first or don't want to detox for long time. I would recommend this detox tea & I also think that this brand is probably one of the best & really does work. I felt nervous about taking the "Bedtime Cleanse" but there is nothing to be scared about, the effects are not horrible in the slightest, it just helps your digestive system alot better. A quick tip, do drink plenty of water or fluids throughout the day to keep yourself hydrated especially when your cleansing & detoxing because it helps flush your body.

You can purchase the Bootea 28 Day Detox at Holland & Barrett's or their official website, where you have more options to buy products individually rather than a set!

How you tried Bootea or any other "Detoxing" teas?
